RAPID CITY -- Progress at the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory at Homestake is encouraging, one of the lead designers on the project said Tuesday.
"I haven't seen anything that is not going well," said hydrologist Rohit Salve from the University of California-Berkeley.
The phased design of the laboratory is about 30 percent complete and will be at the 60-percent mark in June. The goal is to be 100 percent complete by December.
Rohit was among dozens of designers for deep underground experiments sharing their ideas with National Science Foundation reviewers this week in Rapid City.
